Vietnam offers both mountain biking and easy classic road biking. Mountain biking is available in northern and central Vietnam. Road cycling is arranged in southern area, in the Mekong delta area.
The most popular place where mountain biking is arranged in North-Vietnam is Sapa, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Lai Chau, Son La and Dien Bien Phu.
Mountain biking tours usually take several days, starting from 3 days up to a week or even longer. Sapa is the only one place where it is possible for you to enjoy short mountain bike ride. Sapa mountain biking can be arranged in a half day, one day or multi-day.
Other places such as Ha Giang or Cao Bang requires at least three days or four days to do a mountain biking tour.
If you look for a active adventure holidays in Vietnam, then mountain biking is definitely your choice. This activity will offer you the real spirit of adventure while you cycle up or down hill or when you bike on single tracks.
A mountain biking tour requires lots of things to be well prepared before the departure. First of all, an experienced adventure biking guide. The guide must know the biking trail. Then he needs to know how to deal with troubles that may happen on the road.
A support vehicle is also a must have for any mountain biking tour. The support vehicle will run after the cyclists. If there is anyone who is tired, he/she can get on the support the vehicle. The vehicle is used when the biking is not possible, in such situation as the weather is to hot, raining, bad road conditions…
