At the inaugural night tour of Cuc Phuong National Park in northern Vietnam on Saturday, close to a hundred visitors took part in a variety of activities.
A park spokesman said that most visitors were excited to take part in the trip.

"I used to go on a lot of wildlife night trips, but this one is unique due to its whole nature. It's unfortunate that there weren't many fireflies yesterday, Ninh Binh Province resident Thanh Tung remarked.
"It was difficult to take photographs because it was too dark, but seeing fireflies and wildlife with the naked eyes was really enjoyable," another visitor noted.
The wildlife night tour in Cuc Phuong National Park departs by electric car every day of the week from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The last tour begins at 8:45 p.m. and lasts for approximately an hour.
The tour starts at the kids' experience and creativity zone. From there, guests follow guided pathways through the nocturnal forest to witness fireflies and various creatures like insects and deer.
Even uncommon creatures like pangolins, striped and ink otter civets, wild cats, otters, and lorises can be seen by visitors. Additionally, the tour aids in tourists' comprehension of forest conservation and rescue initiatives.
The tour contributes to environmental education by raising awareness of nature and wildlife, according to Pham Kien Cuong, director of the Center for Environmental Education and Service at Cuc Phuong National Park.
According to him, there are only roughly 100 guests per session and they are limited to specific parts of the forest in order to prevent the tour from harming the natural habitat of the critters.
Adults must pay VND 100,000 (US$3.94) for the night excursion, while children must pay VND 50,000.
Prepare your personal belongings: long sleeves, bug and mosquito repellant. Updated details regarding butterflies and firefly season can be found on the park's Facebook fan page and website.
Cuc Phuong, Vietnam's first national park, is located southwest of Hanoi and spans the three provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. It is distinguished by a tropical rainforest.
