Day 1: Yogyakarta Arrival

You are warmly welcomed by our guide and driver at Adisucipto International Airport in Yogyakarta and transferred to the hotel.Yogyakarta is the capital city of Yogyakarta Special Region which is in the southern part of the Central Java province, Indonesia. Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some half a million people and the most popular tourist destination on Java, largely thanks to its proximity to the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The town is a hub of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities.On the way, visit a home batik factory and attend a short demonstration of Wayang Kulit, the famous Javanese leather puppet before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.Then proceed to the hotel for check-in. Day 2: Local Market – Kraton – Taman Sari – Borobudur – Yogyakarta

After breakfast, we drive to Beringharjo Market.Beringharjo symbolises traditional elements of the local economy with its 'four in one pole’ consisting of South Square, Sultan Palace, North Square, and Beringharjo Market. In here, there are many the exotic vegetables and spices unique to Indonesian cooking, as well as the seasonal tropical fruits. The second floor is the place selling the tradition of jamu in Indonesia – a traditional medicine and beverage based on locally blended herbs and spices that’s used to treat a variety of ailments. After that, pay a visit to the Sultan’s Palace, also known as Kraton.For the people of Yogyakarta, the Kraton, or Sultan’s Palace, has been the cultural (and mystical) heart and soul of the city since the mid-1700s. The Kraton is a physical representation of the Javanese Cosmos, charged with the divine forces of the universe. Every detail, tree and pavilion has mystical meaning, and if you take a moment you can just, perhaps, feel a little spark in the air. Built on a north-south axis, the Kraton faces sacred Mount Merapi, and backs the ocean, home of the Sultan’s mystical consort Kanjeng Ratu Loro Kidul (the Queen of the Southern Seas).Then, transfer by local cyclo, becak, to Taman Sari Water Palace and Garden.Located near the Kraton, this place was also known as the garden for the Sultan of Yogyakarta. Some of its original functions were a place to rest, to meditate, to work, to hide and to defend the Sultan’s family. In this present day, some of its buildings have now become homes for local residents and only the mosque, resting and bathing space, and underground tunnels are accessible by tourists.Lunch in a local restaurant in Yogyakarta.In the afternoon, discover the UNESCO Heritage site of Borobudur, 42 kilometres west of Yogyakarta.Borobudur, or Barabudur is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, and the world's largest Buddhist temple.It is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa.Continue visit nearby Mendut Temple.Older than Borobudur, this pyramid-shaped temple houses three impressively carved stone statues; Sakyamuni (Sitting in cross legged pose with turning the wheel of dharma hand gesture), Awalokiteswara (A bodhisattva as a human helper), and Maitreya (The savior of humans for the future). The statues are thought to be some of the most impressive in Java.There will also be a stop at Pawon Temple.Pawon Temple is not a grave but as a place to keep King Indra's weapon namely Vajranala. Tiny temple 2 km east of Borobudur, contains a Buddha statue. This temple was built with volcanic stones. Architecturally it is a blend of old Javanese Hindu and Indian art.Return to the hotel late this afternoon.

Day 3: Yogyakarta – Kaliadem Cycling – Prambanan Temple

Accommodation: At the hotel in YogyakartaMeal: Breakfast, lunch Enjoy breakfast at hotel then we take an one – hour drive to Kaliadem for a two-hour cycling trip. Hop on a bike and peddle through the village with stunning view of Mt Merapi until the finish point in Candi Plaosan.Relax after cycling in Prambanan Resto where your lunch will be served. After lunch, continue to Prambanan TempleBuilt in the 10th century, this is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia. Rising above the centre of the last of these concentric squares are three temples decorated with reliefs illustrating the epic of the Ramayana, dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities (Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma) and three temples dedicated to the animals who serve them. UNESCO named Prambanan a Heritage Site in 1991.Return to your hotel in Yogyakarta and spend the rest of the day on your own. Accommodation: At the hotel in Yogyakarta

Day 4: Yogyakarta – Mojokerto – Ngadisari or Tosari

Early wakeup anh a breakfast box will be provided by the hotel (to be eaten on board the train).Today, you are transferred to Mojokerto by train. Mojokerto is a city in East Java Province, Indonesia. It is located 40 km southwest of SurabayaUpon arrival in Mojokerto, meet with the local driver who will be waiting and travel by road to Ngadisari or Tosari, with a stop for lunch in a local restaurant along the way.The final site of today’s journey is a 4-hour drive to the village of Ngadisari or Tosari on the edge of Tengger Caldera. These spectacular villages are one gateways to Mount Bromo.Check-in at the hotel and rest before dinner at the lodge. Accommodation: At the hotel in Bromo

Day 5: Ngadisari or Tosari – Ijen or Ketapang in Banyuwangi

Awake early in the morning to admire the sunrise of Mount Bromo. Take a 4WD jeep to a viewing spot with stunning views of Bromo volcano and its surroundings.Afterwards, you will have a 20-minute ride on horseback heads to a set of stairs which lead to the rim of the still-active Bromo crater.Back to the hotel for breakfast. Check out and continue to Banyuwangi via Probolinggo.Banyuwangi literally means Aromatic Water, which is associated with the local legend. Being the east-most city on Java, this is where the dawn first rises in the morning throwing its welcoming rays over Java, this lush green but also most densely populated island.A lunch stop and photo breaks will be made en route.Upon arrival, check in and spend the rest of the evening at leisure

Day 6: Mount Ijen – Kaliklatak Coffee Plantation

Accommodation: At the hotel in Banyuwangi.Meal: Breakfast, lunch Breakfast is served at the hotel before setting off by 4WD jeep to mount Ljen.After a 90-minute drive, reach the Paltuding Base Camp (1850m). At the top of Mount Ijen is a large crater lake surrounded by sulphur mines.Then transfer to the former Dutch Plantation of Kali Klatak. Take a delicious traditional lunch on arrival complete with a sampling of local coffee before embarking on a tour to learn about the production and harvesting of produce such as cacao, coffee, pepper and rubber using techniques that have been handed down from generation to generation.Enjoy dinner at your hotel this evening. Accommodation: At the hotel in Banyuwangi.

Day 7: Banyuwangi – Bali – Lovina Beach

Today we will travel across the Bali Strait to the island of Bali by local ferry.The island of Bali lies 3.2 km (2 mi) east of Java. Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colourful, deeply spiritual and unique culture, stakes a serious claim to be paradise on earth.Upon reaching Bali, continue by road to Lovina – one of Bali’s renowned volcanic black sand beach destinations, on Bali’s peaceful and scenic north coast.Arrive at your hotel in Lovina, and enjoy the rest of the day on your own to explore this quiet coastal town. Day 8: Lovina – Beji Temple – Kintamani – Ubud

In the morning, after having breakfast, we will start the excursion with a visit to the Pura Beji, a temple famous for its beautiful stone carvings and for being the largest ‘rice temple’ in Bali.Continue to the temple of Pura Puncak PenulisanBased on the old-Balinese manuscripts, it was told that Bukit Penulisan is also called Bukit Tunggal since its location is separated from the chain of mountains, stretching along from west to east, dividing Bali island into 2 parts, the northern and southern Bali. The temple of Puncak Penulisan, beside its location on a hill, composed of several terraces, even up to 11 terraces.Then, pay a visit to the crater village of Kintamani, which offers spectacular views over Lake Batur and its volcano. Mount Batur stands at 1,412 meters tall and, although it’s not the tallest volcano in Bali, it is the most active, having erupted more than twenty times during the last two centuries. It’s also surrounded by a spectacular caldera.Enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant.Afterwards, continue the drive to Ubud, in the centre of Bali, and check into the hotel late in the afternoon. The rest of the evening is free to spend at leisure.Ubud is in many ways Bali's cultural heart. It's in the cool mountains, just an hour's drive north of the airport. This traditional country town is home to one of Bali's royal families. You can even visit the majestic palace in the centre of town. Ubud is also well known as a flourishing crafts centre.

Day 9: Ubud – Rice Field Walk – Blanco Museum – Monkey Forest

Upon arrival there, take a soft two-hour trek through the rice fields and learn from the guide about subak systems of rice irrigationTegallalang Rice Terraces in Ubud is famous for its beautiful scenes of rice paddies involving the subak (traditional Balinese cooperative irrigation system), which according to history, was passed down by a revered holy man named Rsi Markandeya in the eighth century. Tegallalang forms the three most splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud's shared region, with the others being in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan.Afterwards, visit the Blanco Renaissance Museum.Antonio Blanco is arguably the most famous artist to have ever lived in Bali, and his former home has been converted into a museum with an extensive collection of works as well as his studio. The museum stands as testament to his love for Bali.Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with views along the Ubud River.Then, learn about the Hindu spiritual significance of the Pura Dalem Agung at Sacred Monkey Forest.Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal also called as the Padangtegal Great Temple of Death, is one of three Hindu temples in the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary commonly known as the Ubud Monkey Forest. Also called the Main Temple, it lies in the southwestern part of the Monkey Forest. The main deity worshiped here is God Hyang Widhi in the personification of Shiva. Built around 1350, the temple complex plays a major role in the spiritual life of the local community.The rest of the afternoon is on your own until you are picked up at your hotel to go to enjoy a local performance of one of the many styles of Balinese dance in a local village -one of the most magical experiences to be had in Bali.

Day 10: Ubud – Kertagosa – Besakih – Tirta Gangga – Taman Ujung – Candidasa

Accommodation: At the hotel in UbudMeal: Breakfast, Lunch After breakfast, start the day with a morning tour of the traditional Ubud Market. This is the best time to see the market as it is full of fresh exotic produce from all over the island.Continue to the smallest regency of Bali, Klungkung, to visit the former Royal Court of Justice known as Kertagosa.Kertagosa Taman Gili is a unique building set on a fishpond giving it a ‘floating’ appearance. The highlight here is an elaborately decorated ceiling featuring a wayang-style painting depicting the battle of good versus evil.The excursion continues along small, scenic roads to Besakih, which is also known as the ‘Mother Temple’ of Bali. Located on the western slopes of Mount Agung, Bali’s tallest volcano (2,567 m), Besakih is the largest and most religiously important temple on the island.Take lunch at a local restaurantAfter lunch, pay a visit to Tirta Gangga.Meaning 'water of the Ganges,' this sacred water palace was built in the early twentieth century by the last king of Karangasem. It boasts many decorative ponds, fountains, lush plant life and natural bathing pools.From here, drive to Taman Ujung Water Palace.Built in 1909 and designed by Dutch and Chinese architects, it’s one of the most impressive and unique buildings Bali has to offer and is not very well known amongst tourists as it is not one of the famous sights in Bali.Then transfer to the hotel in Candidasa and spend rest of the day on your own.

Day 11: Candidasa – Padang Bai – Gili Trawangan

Accommodation: At the hotel in CandidasaMeal: Breakfast, Lunch After having breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel for the transfer to the Gili Islands on a speedboatThe Gili Islands are a group of three small islands located off the northwestern shore of Bali's neighbor, Lombok. Popular among divers, there are three dive centers available, namely Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air, around them have a rich tropical marine biodiversity and offer good visibility all year round.Upon arrival in the tropical paradise of Gili Trawangan - the largest and most popular of the 3 Gilis, be welcomed by our representative and transferred by cidomo (horse-drawn cart) to the hotel.The afternoon and evening are at leisure to relax on the beach or take a bike ride around the island.
