Overview

Embark on an extraordinary 9-day Phnom Penh to Siem Reap Cycling Tour, a meticulously crafted adventure designed to take you on a captivating journey through the heart of Cambodia. This immersive bicycle tour offers a unique and intimate perspective, allowing you to pedal through diverse landscapes, uncover ancient historical sites, and connect deeply with the vibrant local culture as you travel from the bustling capital to the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor.

Your cycling expedition typically begins in Phnom Penh, the dynamic capital city. Before setting off, you'll have the opportunity to explore some of its significant landmarks, perhaps including the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and the moving Choeung Ek Killing Fields, which provide crucial historical context. From Phnom Penh, your route often takes you out of the city and onto the quieter roads of the Cambodian countryside. You'll cycle along picturesque paths that wind through lush rice paddies, traditional villages, and verdant farmlands, experiencing the authentic rhythm of rural life. A highlight near Phnom Penh might include a ride to Koh Dach (Silk Island), offering insights into traditional silk weaving.

As you head north, the journey unfolds through charming provincial towns and untouched landscapes. You'll pedal through peaceful villages, where you can observe local life, interact with friendly farmers, and witness traditional crafts. The tour often includes visits to significant historical sites along the way. A notable stop is typically Kampong Thom, a gateway to the ancient pre-Angkorian complex of Sambo Prei Kuk. Cycling through these ancient ruins, surrounded by jungle, provides a serene and historically rich experience, often far less crowded than Angkor. You'll encounter ancient temples, learn about early Khmer architecture, and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.

The final leg of your journey culminates in Siem Reap, the gateway to the legendary Angkor Archaeological Park. Over the last days, you'll dedicate your cycling efforts to exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site. Imagine pedaling along shaded trails, discovering the iconic Angkor Wat, the enigmatic smiling faces of Bayon Temple within Angkor Thom, and the stunning tree-root embraced Ta Prohm. Cycling within the park allows you to cover more ground, discover hidden corners, and experience the temples at your own pace, away from the main tourist routes. This 9-day cycling adventure truly offers a profound and active exploration of Cambodia's rich history, diverse landscapes, and warm hospitality, leaving you with unforgettable memories.
