Your adventure begins early, with a departure from Hanoi at around 7:30 am, driving towards the peaceful Van Long Nature Reserve. Upon arrival, you'll first embark on a serene 1.5 to 2-hour boat trip. As you glide through this "inland Halong Bay," keep your eyes peeled for the incredibly rare Delacour’s langur, one of the most endangered primates in the world. After the boat ride, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon marks the start of a fantastic 40 km cycling journey towards Cuc Phuong National Park. This route takes you through picturesque villages, lush rice paddies, and local farms, offering an intimate glimpse into the daily life of the local people in Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts. Along the way, you'll have the chance to visit beautiful temples, a church, and the intriguing Van Trinh Cave. Arriving at the park, you’ll check into your room, enjoy a hearty dinner at a local restaurant, and settle in for a quiet night's sleep.
Awake to the beautiful sounds of gibbons and the surrounding forest. After breakfast, you will visit the park's key conservation centers: the Visitor Center, the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, and the Turtle Conservation Center, learning about their vital work. Next, you'll cycle 7 km into the forest to explore the Cave of Prehistoric Man, a fascinating archaeological site where stone tools and skeletons dating back 7,500 years were discovered. Continuing your cycling adventure, a 12 km ride brings you to the park center. After checking into your guesthouse and enjoying lunch, you’ll embark on a 7 km loop trail to see the magnificent 1000-year-old tree, discovering the diverse tropical flora and fauna. As evening falls, get ready for an exciting nocturnal wildlife safari. With a park guide and headlights, you’ll re-enter the forest to spot creatures like owls, flying squirrels, civets, and other small carnivores. You will then spend a second night in the heart of the park.
On your final morning, after a refreshing night's sleep, enjoy breakfast before a short, early morning bird-watching walk. This offers a fantastic opportunity to see the park's avian life as the day begins. You will then cycle back to the park headquarters for your final lunch. After a short period of relaxation, your car will be ready to drive you back to Hanoi, concluding your immersive eco-adventure.
