Says goodbye to Bagan this morning to board a domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival, drive to Pindaya Cave where contain thousands of Buddha images and explore the huge meandering maze made up of numerous caves. Next, head to the Sin Khaung Monastery to behold the wooden Shan style monastery dating back to 200 years ago which is home to ancient bamboo Buddha images and bronze statues. Afterward, head to the nearby village to get the first-hand experience to contact with the locals and learn how they make the attractive bamboo hat, pottery, umbrella, and shan paper.
Drive to the Danu Village House from downtown by car for approximately 3 minutes, you can see how to make tea leaf salads by Danu lady and can also join. Pindaya is famous for having the best tea leaf salads and the best soy products in Myanmar. You can taste 2 different styles of tea leaf salads in a simple style and in Danu style salad, fried soybeans and other traditional snacks with Shan Tea. Stroll around the village to spend time with a local family that will introduce you to tea plantations and how they grow and sometimes also can see pickled tea leaves. Danu lady will explain about tea process. Later, return to the car and drive back to Kalaw.
The morning of day 6 takes you to Magway elephant camp from Kalaw. Upon arrival, walk to the elephant village as you get all the information about the project. Here you will get the first-hand experience to see the life of mahouts (elephant trainers) and their families. Afterward, transfer to the river where you will have an amazing opportunity to wash elephants like your owned pet. Please be noticed that riding the elephant is not our main focus.
Our tour today aims at learning about the elephants as well as nature conservation. You can also expect to see colorful butterflies, birds, and orchids. A fascinating Yangon features with the excellent mix of the Burmese style and British colonial architecture will appear in front of you as you drive through the street.
You will stop at the impressive St Mary’s Cathedral before transferring to the Sule Paya and 100 years old Yangon Synagogue where you will have a chance to meet the Trustee to learn about the Jewish Life in the Pagoda.
