Luckily there are a few destinations in the Philippines that offer a close up encounter with these gentle giants of the ocean. In Oslob, the sightings of whale sharks are almost guaranteed throughout the year but the areas are crowded with long queues of people waiting to enjoy this experience. If you want to see whale sharks more differently in the wild, you can visit Puerto Princesa from April to November or Donsol Bay from November to June, but the sighting is not 100% guaranteed. Remember to keep a respectful distance from them at any time and don’t try to touch them or use flash photography.

See the Tarsiers in Bohol
Many travelers visit Bohol in the Philippines for the famous Chocolate Hills, the Man Made Forest or the beautiful beaches, but with natural lovers and animalists, the island of Bohol is home to the endangered Tarsiers, the world’s smallest primate. This cute yet agile species has allured both locals and visitors alike who are curious to know more about the magical creature and its habitat. If you’re one of them, take time to visit the Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary in Corella, Bohol. This center is the shelter of around 100 animals, a half of the world population of tarsiers. Though they are nocturnal creatures that sleep during the day time, a visit to the sanctuary gives you a high chance to see them in the wild. You can also take pictures without flash and quietly so as not to disturb the tarsiers resting up in trees. Bohol Butterfly and Tarsier sanctuaries
Apart from countless natural wonders, Bohol offers visitors plenty of eco tours that help them reconnect to nature. Among other, make sure you pay a visit to Bohol Butterfly Sanctuaries and Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary, two of the best wildlife paradise for nature lovers and animal enthusiasts. If you are a fan of butterflies then Bohol Butterfly Sanctuaries let you explore more or less 300 butterfly endemic to Bohol as well as their growth and reproduction processes. You can take a relaxing stroll around the landscaped flowering gardens and snap many beatiful pictures. Meanwhile, Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary is home to over a hundred tarsiers, the smallest primate in the world. A visit to the sanctuary will give you a great chance to get close up these amazing creatures. Though they are nocturnal animals and you will see them sleeping anyways during your visit, it is still an intimate and truly unforgettable experience you have in Bohol.
