Conquer the Untamed Heart of Cambodia – A 12-Day Dirt Bike Epic

Embark on the ultimate 12-day Cambodia Dirt Bike Tour with Golden Trail Travel, an unparalleled expedition crafted for experienced riders seeking to push their limits and discover the raw, untamed beauty of the "Kingdom of Wonder." This isn't just a tour; it's a profound journey into Cambodia's most remote landscapes, offering an exhilarating blend of challenging off-road riding, deep cultural immersion, and breathtaking natural scenery rarely witnessed by conventional travelers.

Your epic adventure begins in the bustling capital of Phnom Penh, where you'll be warmly greeted by our team of expert Golden Trail Travel guides, all seasoned Cambodian riders with an intimate knowledge of every trail. After a comprehensive briefing on safety protocols and the thrilling itinerary ahead, you'll be introduced to your high-performance, meticulously maintained dirt bike – your trusted companion for the next 12 days of adventure. We'll quickly escape the urban sprawl, diving straight into the challenging dirt tracks that lead to the heart of rural Cambodia.

The initial days will immediately test your skills as we navigate a mix of red dirt roads, winding single tracks, and technical sections through traditional villages and vast, verdant rice paddies. This progressive introduction ensures you're attuned to the Cambodian terrain before we venture deeper into its wild frontiers.

The true highlight and ultimate challenge of this tour lie within the formidable Cardamom Mountains, one of Southeast Asia's last remaining pristine rainforests and an untouched wilderness. Prepare for truly epic days as we conquer dense jungle trails, execute exhilarating river crossings (some by local ferries, others by challenging water fords), and ascend steep, rocky inclines. Our routes are specifically chosen to provide an authentic, rugged dirt biking experience, taking you along rarely traveled paths that offer spectacular, unspoiled views and a profound sense of isolation. You'll witness the raw, majestic beauty of Cambodia's wilderness, far removed from any conventional tourist routes.

As we carve our way through this rugged terrain, you'll discover hidden gems like the impressive Tatai waterfall, offering a refreshing respite and stunning photo opportunities, and the serene rivers of Koh Kong province. The riding in these areas is demanding, requiring not just speed but precision, balance, and endurance. Every twist, turn, and climb presents a new thrill and a new reward, from navigating through muddy sections after seasonal rains to skillfully maneuvering over challenging rocky outcrops. Our highly experienced guides, with their unparalleled local knowledge, will lead the way, ensuring your safety while maximizing the adrenaline and adventure.

Beyond the sheer thrill of the ride, this tour offers an incredibly rich cultural experience. We'll pass through remote villages where traditional ways of life have remained unchanged for centuries, providing unique opportunities to interact with friendly locals. You'll gain insights into their daily routines, savor authentic Cambodian cuisine in humble local eateries, and see parts of Cambodia that remain untouched by modern development. These genuine interactions add an irreplaceable layer of cultural depth to your high-octane adventure.

The tour culminates as we reach the magnificent Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap. While the focus is on the dirt biking journey, we ensure ample time to explore this UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll ride your dirt bike to the iconic Angkor Wat, the enigmatic stone faces of Bayon Temple, and the mystical, tree-entwined ruins of Ta Prohm. Our routes around Angkor will take you on less-traveled paths, allowing for unique perspectives and incredible photo opportunities, bringing a fitting historical crescendo to your off-road odyssey.

This 12-day Cambodia Dirt Bike Tour is designed for the seasoned dirt bike rider seeking an unparalleled challenge and an authentic, immersive adventure. Golden Trail Travel provides top-tier dirt bikes, unparalleled expert guiding, and comprehensive logistical support every step of the way, ensuring a safe, thrilling, and truly unforgettable expedition into the wild heart of Cambodia. Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival ( L ,D )
Pick you up from the airport - Our tour begins in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. We will take the day to get you acquainted with Cambodia’s recent history. We’ll visit the S21 Genocide Museum, the infamous Killing Fields, and the bustling Russian Market. Next, we’ll visit the private quarters of the Royal Palace, which is now home to the royal family. Located on the northern territory of the grounds is the Silver Pagoda, the most sacred temple in the country. In the late afternoon, we will brief you about the trip ahead over a few cold beers, followed by a meal at a local restaurant on the riverfront.
Day 2: Phnom Penh - Snuol ( B , L , D )
Leaving the chaos of Phnom Penh, we’ll cross the mighty Mekong river by ferry, after which we’ll head north, following the river before crossing back over on a one-kilometer bamboo bridge towards the riverside town of Kampong Cham. There, we’ll stop for lunch before finishing the day with a ride through the rubber plantations that lead to the city of Snuol.
Day 3: Snuol - Sen Monorom ( B , L , D )
Today it’s up to you to decide: should we cruise along the old “King’s Highway” or ride up into the winding mountain roads? In the afternoon you’ll have the option to visit an elephant sanctuary or the breath-taking Bou Sra waterfall which cascades over three stages.
Day 4: Sen Monorom - Banlung ( B , L , D )
As we glide through the Mondulkiri province, we’ll ride along with parts of the infamous “Death Highway” –– no fear! It is not mortally dangerous but merely trying. The highway offers a mix of dirt, sand, and mud tracks, as well as river crossings. By the end of the day, we will have arrived in the beautiful Ratanakiri province.
Day 5: Banlung ( B, L, D )
Rest up! Banlung has a lot to offer: located amid a dense tropical forest, it has an almost perfectly circular shape and turquoise waters to relax in. You can ride out to one of the many waterfalls, visit a remote hill tribe or relax by the clear waters of the Yeak Laom volcanic lake.
Day 6: Banlung - Stung Treng ( B , L , D )
If you’re feeling up for it, let’s hit the trails! Offering an exhilarating ride through sand and gravel tracks as well as several river crossings, and local trails will be difficult but rewarding. An easier option takes you directly west to our destination, Stung Treng, where you can ride alongside the Mekong river and explore local villages.
Day 7: Stung Treng - Laos Borders ( B , L , D )
We’ll cross the Mekong river in the morning and turn north to meet with the river again at the border of Cambodia and Laos. Here, we’ll hop on a wooden, long-tail boat in search of the rare Irrawaddy dolphin. Returning to our bikes, we’ll visit the Mekong rapids and then set out on the dirt roads that will bring us to Preah Vihear province.
Day 8: Choam Ksan Ker ( B, L, D )
An early morning cycle up winding mountain roads will lead us to the spectacular mountain top temple of Preah Vihear, which is situated between the border of Cambodia and Thailand. Heading back down the mountain, we’ll set course for the remote temples of Koh Ker.
Day 9: Kok Ker - Siem Reap( B, L, D )
Koh Ker, the former capital of the Khmer Empire, is home to over 180 temples and sanctuaries. We’ll hit up several of the most remarkable of these architectural monuments in the morning before setting out toward our final destination: Siem Reap.
Day 10: Siem Reap visit Angkor Temple by Car ( B , L , D )
