Northern Laos Motorbike Trip will take you on our special rides to very beautiful and famous destinations in the North of Laos with a start from Luang Prabang to Vieng Thong then Vieng Xay and onwards to Phonsavanh and Vang Vieng. At those places, you’ll have opportunities to experience our dirty rides over remoted villages and meet the hilltribes and discover spectacular waterfalls and jungles as well as war relics and finally we’ll ride back to Luang Prabang.

Activities: Motorbiking out of Luang Prabang, nature, waterfalls, elephants In the morning, we pick you up at your guesthouse/hotel and luang prabang motorbike tour introduce you to your personnel “old lady” at the garage. After a short briefing and a small training ,we start a motorbike trip to our first highlight: VatPhraPhonPao, this young temple (finished 1987) is located on a hill outside of LPQ. Here you will have your first impression of Luang Prabang from above (unless you came by plane). After breakfast, we will ride the scenic Motorbiking tour around Luang Prabang -WaterfallLao – Spirit – Resort our next stop is the Elephant -XL – camp. Here you can see our grey friends the protected Asian Elephants in natural environment. Leaving the elephants with nice pictures, we go towards on a dusty road to TadKatscham, a lonely and beautiful waterfall south of Luang Prabang. Don’t forget your swimsuits (no Bikini !!!). This motorbiking introduction day will send us back to Luang Prabang after another 40 km stretch on wild and sealed roads. Depending on the season another waterfall is a surprise!
Activities: Motorcycling out into the north Amazing Mekong, caves and Buddhist heritage site, dirt roads…adventure! (B,L),Start 8 A.M.! After breakfast about a 1000 Buddha-images are waiting for you on the side of the Mekong . ThamThing and ThamPhoum-cave is the host of those unbelievable gifted express of Laotian art and religion… Than we will hit the road for some decent dirt road riding in eastern direction through mountains, villages and great landscapes.,Some hours later, we will have lunch in a small village along the way. After another 60k’s we will reach our destination for today…and surely with some pain in the ass…The small place of Vieng Thong is quiet and remote enough to hang out…the hot springs will help to release our exhausted bums in the,hot water.,Night in basic guesthouse in town at Vieng Thong.
Activities: Ride the motorcycle on endless roads, along national parks, the highlands of Laos (B,L),After an early start we drive through amazing landscapes and vieng xay motorbike tour through some quite prestige forest area…where tourists hardly ever venture!! First stop over is Phoulao, well known for the men hires in its stone garden and ancient relict of the earliest civilization in this region.,,,On our stopover in Sam Nuea we can have our lunch break (bit later than normal) and can walk around the city to stretch our feet. The countryside around Sam Neua is blessed with high mountains and some great limestone formations. It will pay us back for the fatiguing street we have managed to travel so far!,,Leaving Sam Nuea behind, we will reach Vieng Xay, the birthplace of the Laotian republic. This little sleepy town has been very important in the last Indochina-war because the former headquarters of the Pathet-Lao-Revolutionaries. The Lao revolutionaries could hide before the constant bombings of the US air force. The Lao republic was born here…in midst this amazing and fascinating landscape which we will explore. A few hundred caves were counted here and many of them were inhabited,during the war. Time to learn about history!,Night in Vieng Xay.
Activities: Lao history, caves, mountain roads to the south east of Laos (B,L),A short tour around the caves will introduce us to North Laos with motorbikes the trouble history of Laos during the sixties and seventies. Also we will show you to some villages beside the road to have a better understanding of land and culture. After lunch, we will discover the ThamPiew-cave.,,In fact: a very sad place, because during the war here were more than 400 people killed in an American attack. Also this side everybody should see, learn to avoid such “events” in future. Night in small market town,along the way.,Night in Phonsavanh .
Activities: The amazing plain of jars, Lao Hmong villages, deep valleys (B,L),Nobody really knows where phonsavan motorbike tour the jars which we visit today actually came from…and what were the used for. Some secrets will remain even we don’t know. This day we will spend visiting a great highland landscape scattered with mysterious jars, bigger than those in a modern factory. They are big and old and amazing sight and still a miracle!,,Laos Motorcycle Tour to Viengthong, Vieng Xay, Phonsavanh & Vang Vieng,Scattered around the jars are still a lot of bombs a UXO, unexploded ordnances, a “gift” of the Americans during the last war. So stay on the track!!! Another short trip leads us out to the old capital of this province which also was destroyed by bombers during the early seventies. The evening we have time to hang out in Phonsavanh town. Night in Phonsavanh.
Activities: Drive your motorbike in the highlands of Laos to Vang Vieng (B,L),Direction occident through breathtaking wood formations and underneath a “green roof” is our next target Vang Vieng. In Laos for tourists the party paradise!,,After lunch you will join the legendary tubing down the Nam Xong. A duty for every Vang Vieng-visitors! A great day filled with nature, Lao’s landscapes and some fun activities in Lao nature. Night in Vang Vieng.
Activities: Ride your motorcycle through the last stretch of mountains to Luang Prabang,This morning we can ride our motorcycles after some time relaxing on this amazing landscape just outside of our hotel. Take the time for a walk before we make a motorbike trip back into the mountain roads of Laos. The last adventure is our way back to Luang Prabang. A farewell motorbike ride in Laos will lead you within 5-6 hrs to Luang Prabang. After arrival in Luang Prabang . Drop bike to our bike shop and A Tuk-Tuk will send you back to your hotel .
