Day 2: Lhasa
Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor StreetMeals: Breakfast, LunchAccommodation: In LhasaToday, enjoy your full day religious visit to Potala Palace -- awe-inspiring, perching high above much of Lhasa, which is the landmark of the city. Then move to visit Jokhang Temple -- the spiritual center of Tibet. Barkhor Street -- a circular street at the center of Lhasa, is the oldest street in a very traditional city of Tibet. It is a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble and a place to which a visit must be paid.
Day 3: Lhasa
Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka, Sera MonasteryMeals: Breakfast, LunchAccommodation: In LhasaAfter breakfast, enjoy your sightseeing tour today that starts with a visit to Drepung Monastery -- known for the high standards of its academic study. It was called the Nalanda of Tibet, a reference to the great Buddhist monastic university of India. Then continue your tour to Norbulingka Park, a traditional summer palace and residence starting with the 7th Dalai Lama. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery to see monks debating inside the shady courtyard behind the main temple. After that, drive back to your hotel and free of the rest time.
Day 4: Lhasa - Nyingchi (400km & 5 hours journey)
Driver to Nyingchi, Mila Pass, Basomtso LakeMeals: Breakfast, LunchAccommodation: In NyingchiAfter breakfast, check out and your guide will meet you at the hotel. Today we drive along the National Highway G318 from Lhasa to Nyingchi. On the way, we will drive over the Mila Pass (5013m) and reach Kongpo Gamda town.Then head to the Basomtso Lake which is around 360km east of Lhasa. Basomtso Lake, situated at 3,500 meters above sea level, originates from Nyenchen Tangha Mountain and is a dozen kilometers long. Snow-covered mountains, glaciers and trees are reflected upon the lake’s rippling surface. There are small islands in the middle of the lake with Lamaist temples built upon them.Then we continue to drive along the Nyiyang River to Bayi town. Stay overnight in Nyingchi.
Day 5: Nyingchi
Great Cypress Nature Reserve Area, Sekyim la Pass, Mt. Namjia BawaMeals: Breakfast, LunchAccommodation: In NyingchiToday, firstly we are about to visit the Great Cypress Nature Reserve Area, which is 15 kilometers southeast of the Bayi Town. The king cypress in the reserve is about 50 meters tall and is about 2,500 years old.Then we will drive to Sekyim la Pass (4720m) and enjoy the great view of Mt. Namjia Bawa (7,700m) in the distance.After that, continue to drive to the lush Lulang Forest with an elevation of 3700m, and it is a typical highland meadow strip, with dense bushes, spruce trees, and pines from the rolling castle-like peaks on both sides. The distant clouds, the snow-capped mountains, the endless pines, and the quiet pastoral displayed a beautiful landscape.After the trip, drive back to Nyingchi and stay overnight there.
