After breakfast at your hotel, spend the day exploring the town of Kanpetlet, set on a mountain ridge between two deep valleys. You may visit a local house to learn about the tattoo tradition of the Chin Tribe: meet six women with different face tattoos and learn about the history, meaning, and process of this longstanding custom. Later, enjoy a traditional Chin-style dinner at your hotel.
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a jeep ride and then a trek to the summit of Mount Victoria, the highest peak in the Chin state, where you can take in incredible panoramic views. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a rest house after trekking down three hours to the base of the mountain, and then relax on the short 1-hour drive to Aye village – located 5,800 feet above sea level – for dinner and a night at a simple guesthouse.
Day 4 : Aye village – Mindat ( B , L , D )
Today, you’ll visit several local Chin villages to learn more about traditional tribal life. You will drive to Mashiyaw village and then trek to two small villages, Kyar Do and Lupet, where you can meet local people, learn more about their tattoo customs, and visit the village sites, including the sacrifice post and the traditional circle stone slab cemetery. Afterward, you’ll drive to the village of Mindat and stay overnight.
After breakfast, you’ll head eight hours back to Bagan, stopping at a local restaurant for lunch. Enjoy a final night at the hotel in Bagan before departing in the morning to your next destination. End The Tour.
