Thailand Border Cycle to Siem Reap Tour. Chantaburi cycles 20km to the Pailin town located on the foothills of the scenic Cardamom Mountains. Pailin used to be Khmer Rouge Strong-hold survived by trading gemstones. Until 1998, Khmer Rouge demobilized its forces into the government army. There are a few climbs and then downhill. Watch for large potholes, and cows might be crossing the road with the string so there might a trap. Cycle along with this Cardamom mountain range passing the rice field and you won’t be tired as the kids like to say hello and wave from their houses. Recently, the road from Pailin to Battambang. Recently, the road from Pailin to Battambang has been improved.

An early breakfast before cycling for 15 minutes to board a public rustic wooden boat to Siem Reap, the boat has a basic toilet and life jacket and takes about 6 – 7 hours. It is one of the best boat trips in Cambodia to cross the Sangker River and view the fishermen and all their activities on the river. Crossing Tonle Sap Lake (South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake), the main reserve for water when the Mekong is flooded, without the lake, Cambodia will be flooded every year.

Day 4: Siem Reap – Angkor Complex (Cycling: 45km)

After breakfast at the hotel, today you will have a great day cycling along the back road and a small path in the jungle to visit all the main temples of Angkor. Starting from your hotel in town straight to Phnom Bakheng and continuing to visit Angkor Wat temple with East Gate, cycling further in the jungle to visit Banteay Kdei and Ta Prohm temples. Lunch in a local restaurant, after lunch you continue to visit Preah Khan temple and also Angkor Thom City, and Bayon temple before returning to Siem Reap.

Breakfast at the hotel, we cycle through the countryside with nice scenery of rice paddies and Khmer Traditional Houses, first stop is to visit Banteay Samre and continue to Kbal Spean Mountain where you will have lunch at a local restaurant and then take 45-minute hiking up to the top of the hill to visit the 1000 lingá and some other ancient caving on the riverbed. Return to Siem Reap and visit the Banteay Srei temple on the way.

Accommodation: Overnight in Siem Reap

Day 6: Siem Reap departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Free until transfer to the airport for departure flight. End of tour and welcome back.
