Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau. 180km. Home-stay.
Pick up and start the first day drive to the Northwest of Hanoi. Easy dirt trails & main roads, nice scenery along the Da River and bamboo forests. Dinner and overnight at home-stay with Thai family.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Laos border –  Samnua. 227km. Guest house.
Say goodbye to the family and head down to Thanh Hoa Province. Driving on a beautiful trail along the Ma River until Na Meo Town where we cross the border  to get to Laos. The landscape suddenly changed in Laos side, quiet road, nice scenery, drive up/down many mountain passes. Dinner in town, overnight at mini hotel in Sam nua Town.
Day 3: Samnuea – Xieng Khoang (Plain of Jars). 240 km. Hotel.
A nice day drive over hills and high mountain passes. Visit some small Hmong villages on the way. Before arriving in Xieng Khoang, we will take a visit to the famous Plain Of Jars. Dinner in town, overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Xieng Khoang – Luang Prabang. 250km. Hotel.
Start the drive early as it’s a long day drive, still very hilly all the way to Luang Prabang. Some stops for taking photo of very nice view over high mountains and deep valley. Arrive late in the afternoon. Dinner in town, overnight at hotel.
Day 5: . Luang Prabang. Hotel
A whole day free time to discover the ancient City of Luang Prabang, a nice City with lovely food and plenty of things to visit. Meals by your own, overnight at hotel. Day 6: Luang Prabang – Muang La. 240km. Guest house.
Leaving the beautiful city of Luang Prabang, we head up closer to the Northwest of Vietnam, another long day drive but beautiful, roads are all good, many stops to visit the villages of Hmong & Thai peoples. Dinner/overnight at guesthouse.
Day 7: Muang La – Vietnam border – Dien Bien Phu. 170 km. Hotel.
Head to the East where we will cross the border to get back to Vietnam. The landscapes change quickly once after the border, flat plain with rice fields and tree lines. Drive all the way down hill through the country of black Thai peoples until the spectacular valley of Dien Bien Phu, where we will stop for the night. Dinner in town, overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Dien Bien Phu – Son La. 180km. Hotel.
Make a visit to the historical remains of French battle field during the Indochina War. Start driving down to the South to get to Son La. Ride up/down many high passes, many stop on the beautiful Pha Din mountain pass for photo and visit to the village of Black Thai/Hmong peoples. Dinner in town, overnight at hotel.
Day 9: Son La – Hanoi. 300km. Tour finishes.
Leave the high mountains of the Northwestern region, we head down to the South to get back to Hanoi, following the bank of the Black River until Hanoi. We end the trip in Hanoi.
