9:00 AM: Our cultural journey begins at the Temple of Literature (Văn Miếu). This 11th-century complex—Vietnam’s first national university—offers an insightful walk through history. Admire the World Heritage stone steles, symbols of outstanding scholarship, and learn about the profound influence of Confucianism.

Next, we head to the Museum of Ethnology, a fantastic stop for families, which provides a vivid, deep insight into the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam through traditional houses, costumes, and artifacts.

Afternoon Immersion in the Old Quarter: We dive into the vibrant heart of Hanoi. Your guide will lead a fascinating walk, revealing hidden gems like the quiet Ba Da Pagoda nestled near the bustling French-built Hanoi Great Cathedral. We explore "specialty streets" such as Lan Ong Street (traditional medicine) and Lo Ren Street (metal crafts), culminating at the vast Dong Xuan Central Market. The walk concludes at Ta Hien Street—the famous "Beer Corner"—where you can observe the lively street food scene and perhaps try a local beverage for an unforgettable sensory experience.

The day ends magically with the Water Puppet Show, a unique 11th-century performance that beautifully depicts Vietnamese folk tales and daily life using puppets dancing on water.

8:30 AM: Today is dedicated to traditional craftsmanship. We drive into the peaceful countryside to visit Ha Thai Lacquer Village, a renowned hub of art where a 200-year-old technique is preserved.

You will be escorted by Mr. Dzung, a local lacquer artist, who will guide you through the intricate process: applying, polishing, and inlaying layers of varnish, eggshells, and mother-of-pearl. The highlight is the hands-on experience at his workshop, where you can discover your own artistic talent by making a small piece of lacquer art under his instruction—a perfect, personalized souvenir.

We return to Hanoi in the afternoon, allowing you free time for last-minute shopping or a final walk in the city center.

In the evening, we make a short transfer to Hanoi Train Station. You will board the traditional overnight train (SP3) in a comfortable Deluxe (4-berth) cabin, settling down for a romantic, classic journey to the mountainous north while you sleep.

Arrive at Lao Cai Train Station early this morning. Your guide and private car will meet you for the stunning, hour-long ascent to Sapa, where you’ll be immediately captivated by the cascading rice terraces and the sight of local H’mong and Red Dao people along the road.

After breakfast at a local restaurant, we begin our signature trekking day:

• Y Linh Ho to Lao Chai: Start a full day of trekking. Follow the path downhill from Y Linh Ho, interacting with the friendly H’mong families whose homes are nestled deep in the valley. We take a break at the cable-bridge, soaking up the natural beauty.

• Cultural Immersion: In Lao Chai Village, we follow winding paths to a charming hamlet where you may meet a grandmother, one of the last craftsmen in the community, demonstrating the traditional beeswax method for indigo Hmong clothing.

• Ta Van Village: Continue to the beautiful land of the Dzay people, Ta Van Village. As you walk, villagers will often invite you in for a cup of tea, offering authentic moments of connection amidst panoramic views of the river and the Hoàng Liên Sơn Mountain range.

Return to Sapa town in the late afternoon to check into the comfortable Sapa Elegance Hotel.

After breakfast, we embark on a final, beautiful 3-hour trek from Ma Tra Hamlet to Ta Phin Village. This route leads you through superb rice terrace valleys, offering excellent opportunities to meet and interact with the Black Hmong and Red Dao ethnic groups.

This is a chance to learn about their preserved ancestral way of life, language, and customs. We’ll stop to visit a Hmong family and a school in Ma Tra Village. Your interaction with the Red Dao people in Ta Phin will reveal their distinctive, colourful costumes and deep-rooted traditions.

2:30 PM: Your driver will collect you for the comfortable 6-hour express bus journey back to Hanoi via the new highway. The drive is scenic and efficient, allowing you to reflect on your mountain adventure.

8:00–9:00 PM: Arrive in Hanoi and check back into your city hotel.

7:30 AM: We take a short transfer to Trung Trang Cave on Cat Ba Island—one of the most impressive limestone caves in the region, featuring thousands of unique stalactites and geological formations.

9:30 AM: Return to the main boat, check out of your cabin, and settle any bills.

10:30 AM: A delicious early lunch/brunch is served as the cruise gently sails back to Tuan Chau Port, giving you a final chance to admire the wondrous seascape.

11:30 AM: Disembark and meet your driver for the final 2.5-hour transfer back to Hanoi. The driver will drop you off at your hotel before picking you up later for your final transfer to Noi Bai Airport (HAN) (approx. 45 minutes) for your departure flight, carrying cherished memories of Sapa's trails and Lan Ha's waters.
