Overview

Phnom Penh Cycling To Siem Reap and Pailin biking heading north on the national road N5 past the ancient Japanese bridge and start traveling through the Cambodian countryside. This will bring you to the small town of Stoung – 45Km from Kompong Thom. In Stoung start by biking the 100Kms left to the city of the temples. Ride from the downtown to Angkor Wat temple via the back road of Phnom Bakheng, and continue to Banteay Kdei and Ta Prohm temples. We saddle up and ride south to Pailin. The road in sections is in good condition and the scenery is the most impressive as we head towards Thailand.

Today is an early morning departure by bike heading north on the national road N5 past the ancient Japanese bridge and start traveling through the Cambodian countryside. After 12kms you get to Prek Phnov where you turn onto unpaved roads passing local villages and rice fields. You head towards the ancient capital of Udong where Udong Mountain is still home to many of the old Royal Palace and continue to ride to Kampong Thom to reach 90km the rest will be transferred by a support van to the downtown.

Day 3: Kompong Thom – Siem Reap (Cycling: 100km)

After transferring a short leg towards Siem reap today’s cycle. This will bring you to the small town of Stoung – 45Km from Kompong Thom. In Stoung start by biking the 100Kms left to the city of the temples. You will have some shade as you cycle beneath the roadside palms past Preah Pros Lake and the Kompong Svay district.

Breakfast at the hotel and today you will do 45km cycling to discover all the temples of Angkor through the small path in the jungle. We start to ride from downtown to Angkor Wat temple via the back road of Phnom Bakheng and continue to Banteay Kdei and Ta Prohm temples. Lunch in a local restaurant, continue to ride to Preah Khan and Bayon temple in Angkor Thom City and return to Siem Reap.

Breakfast at the hotel and today you will be transferred to Tonle Sap Lake where you will embark on the public wooden rustic boat to cruise through this giant lake to Battambang (approximately 7 hours), we also can see all the daily fishing activities and floating village on the way, lunch box will be provided on boat. You will still have an option to take 2.5 drives overland. On arrival, transfer to the hotel in Battambang for check-in.

Day 6: Battambang – Pailin (Cycling: 89km)

We saddle up and ride south to Pailin. The road in sections is in good condition and the scenery is the most impressive as we head towards Thailand. The road undulates as we get closer to Pailin but there is nothing to step on or long. We will cross streams and bridges and get a feeling of riding into uncharted territory. This used to be bandit country, but don’t worry the area is now completely safe.
