Route: Hanoi → Ba Be National Park (approx. 250km, 5-6 hours)

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Hanoi into the verdant landscapes of Ba Be National Park. As we leave the city behind, the scenery transforms into a lush expanse of limestone mountains and rural villages. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our traditional Tay ethnic homestay, your cozy base for the night.
In the afternoon, you’ll have the option of a gentle bike ride or a short drive to explore the magnificent Hua Ma Cave. This geological marvel is a sight to behold, with a vast chamber filled with countless stalactites and stalagmites. Later, we'll take a relaxed walk through Pac Ngoi Village, a Tay community known for its traditional stilt houses perched along the riverbank. This is your first opportunity to meet the locals and experience their peaceful, traditional way of life.
We'll spend the night in a comfortable homestay in Ba Be, enjoying a delicious home-cooked dinner.
Route: Ba Be → Quang Uyen (approx. 150km, 3-4 hours)
Activities: Boat trip on Ba Be Lake and Nang River, visiting Dau Dang Waterfall and Puong Cave, cultural exploration in Quang Uyen.
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll board a traditional boat for a serene cruise on Ba Be Lake. The boat trip is a highlight of the tour, offering stunning views as we pass the mythical Widow Islet and glide down the Nang River. Our journey will take us to Dau Dang Waterfall, a spectacular cascade of water flowing through a limestone gorge.
Next, we’ll cruise through the mystical Puong Cave, a massive limestone tunnel carved by the river and home to a large colony of bats. After this awe-inspiring experience, the boat will drop us off at Cao Thuong Pier, where our driver will be waiting.
We'll then drive to Quang Uyen, a beautiful rural district. The journey offers captivating views, and you'll have an optional stop in Cao Bang city for a coffee and a quick overview of the area’s history, including the 1979 border conflict. In the late afternoon, we'll arrive at our homestay in Phia Thap Village, home to the Nung An ethnic group. The evening will be spent enjoying a traditional meal and the warm hospitality of our hosts.
Route: Quang Uyen → Ban Gioc → God's Eye Mountain → Quang Uyen (approx. 160km round trip)
Activities: Discovering Ban Gioc Waterfall, exploring Nguom Ngao Cave, visiting God's Eye Mountain.
Today is dedicated to exploring the magnificent natural wonders of the region. After breakfast, we'll drive to the majestic Ban Gioc Waterfall, which famously straddles the border between Vietnam and China. At 30 meters high and over 200 meters wide, it is the largest and most breathtaking waterfall in Vietnam, a truly spectacular sight.
Next, we will visit Nguom Ngao Cave, a cavern stretching over 2 kilometers. Its name, "Tiger Cave," comes from the legends of its past inhabitants, but today you will find intricate stalactite and stalagmite formations, creating a surreal underground world.
On our return journey, we will make a stop at the unique God's Eye Mountain (Núi Mắt Thần). A short, easy hike will lead us to this remarkable natural landmark, where a large, circular hole high in the mountain's peak gives it its name, offering a fantastic photo opportunity. We'll return to our homestay in Quang Uyen for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Route: Quang Uyen → Bac Son → Huu Lung (approx. 180km, 6 hours)
Activities: Traveling through historic towns, sightseeing in Bac Son Valley, settling in Huu Lung.
We'll begin our journey south to Huu Lung in Lang Son province, following a historical route through towns like Dong Khe and That Khe. This road, formerly known as Route Colonial 4 (RC4), played a pivotal role in the Indochina War, and your guide will share fascinating stories about the region's past.
The highlight of today is the picturesque Bac Son Valley. If your visit is between July and October, you will be treated to the stunning sight of golden-yellow rice fields ready for harvest, creating a vibrant mosaic in the valley floor. We will take time to soak in these breathtaking views and capture memorable photos.
In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Huu Lung, a beautiful area known for its dramatic limestone karsts and tranquil rural scenery. We’ll check into a cozy local homestay in Yen Thinh, where you can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before a well-deserved home-cooked dinner.
Route: Huu Lung → Hanoi (approx. 150km, 3 hours)

On our final day, we’ll set out on a half-day hike from Yen Thinh to Yen Vuong. This leisurely 6-kilometer walk takes you through sprawling rice paddies and peaceful corn plantations, offering a true glimpse into the authentic rural life of the region.
Along the way, we'll have the chance to interact with local farmers, gaining insights into their daily work and traditions. It's a perfect opportunity to enjoy the serene mountain scenery one last time and capture some final, personal photos of your journey.
