Overview

Embark on an enriching and active 5-day private biking tour through the captivating heart of the Mekong Delta, a journey designed by Golden Trail Travel to offer an intimate and profound connection with Southern Vietnam. Starting from the bustling energy of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), this extensive cycling adventure allows you to delve deep into the region's vibrant culture, lush landscapes, and unique riverine life at an immersive pace. While the initial days of this immersive journey typically involve a comfortable transfer from Saigon and the commencement of cycling through picturesque delta scenery, leading you deeper into its verdant embrace, the latter half of the tour promises an unforgettable exploration of its distinct heritage and natural wonders.

Your cycling exploration truly comes alive as you arrive in Tra Vinh on Day 3. Here, you'll cycle from Tra Vinh to Tieu Can, a route rich with cultural discoveries. You'll visit ancient Khmer temples and charming Khmer villages, and marvel at the sight of immense rice fields stretching to the horizon, showcasing the Mekong Delta's rich ethnic diversity and agricultural bounty. After a satisfying lunch in Cau Ke, you'll continue your scenic ride to Can Tho, the unofficial capital of the Mekong Delta, renowned for its vibrant floating markets and intricate rural canals. The day concludes with check-in at your hotel and a delicious dinner in town.

Day 4 begins early with a quintessential Mekong Delta experience: a captivating boat trip to the bustling Cai Rang floating market. Witness the vibrant spectacle of commerce unfolding on the water, a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds as vendors trade their goods directly from their boats. After returning to your hotel, you'll embark on more cycling, crossing the Can Tho ferry and continuing your ride along the majestic Mekong River. Another ferry crossing at Vam Cong brings you to Long Xuyen, the second largest city in the Mekong Delta, where you'll settle into your hotel for the night.

On the final Day 5, your adventure continues with a picturesque last bike ride from Long Xuyen. You'll cycle along the tranquil Lap Vo canal to Sa Dec, a charming town famously associated with the novel "The Lover" by Marguerite Duras. Here, you'll have lunch, savoring local flavors, and then enjoy a comfortable transfer by bus back to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), concluding your unforgettable 5-day biking expedition through the authentic landscapes and rich cultures of the Mekong Delta.
