Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau
We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am for an eco-tourism adventure on electric assisted bikes, also known as e-bikes. We’ll head to Luong Son, where we’ll make our first stop to unload the electric bikes and begin our sustainable journey. The ride will be mostly on flat, paved roads, so it should be pretty easy with the electric bikes providing a comfortable ride. After cycling for about 30 kilometers, we’ll arrive at Cun Mountain Pass, where we’ll pick you up in the car and take you to a local restaurant for lunch. Once you’re done with lunch, we’ll hop back on our electric bikes and ride towards Phu Cuong, covering another 30 kilometers. You’ll get to cycle through local Muong villages that are scattered along the Da River reservoir, and the back road ride will offer stunning views of rural villages and lush hillsides. As the day winds down, we’ll arrive at the village of the Thai People, where we’ll enjoy a sustainable experience of living with the locals. A local Thai family will prepare a dinner of locally sourced ingredients for you, and you’ll spend the night in a traditional stilt house, experiencing the local culture firsthand.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Pu Luong
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to our host and begin cycling towards Pu Luong Nature Reserve in Thanh Hoa Province, continuing our sustainable e-bike adventure. The reserve is situated along two parallel mountain ridges that run from northwest to southeast, and a central valley that has several human settlements and a large agricultural area. Pu Luong is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, closely associated with Cuc Phuong National Park, which is 25 kilometers southeast of the reserve. We’ll cycle on a dirt road through local Thai and Muong villages, stopping for coffee breaks, taking photos of stunning mountainous landscapes, or visiting local homes, all while being environmentally friendly on our electric bikes. After continuing along Road 15C, we’ll reach a Thai village where we’ll stop for lunch, enjoying a meal made from locally grown ingredients. The ride in the afternoon will be flat for the first section, and then it will go downhill for around 5 kilometers to a Muong village. We’ll check into a local stilt house for dinner and spend the night there, continuing our sustainable and cultural experience.
Day 3: Pu Luong – Hanoi
After breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to our gracious hosts and ride towards the Ma River, passing through expansive maize fields en route, all while being mindful of our environmental impact on our e-bikes. As we approach the river, we’ll see many water wheels that the locals use to irrigate their farms, showcasing their sustainable agricultural practices. Once we cross the river via a bridge, we’ll take a break and enjoy lunch in Canh Nang, again making sure to choose a restaurant that uses locally sourced ingredients. After our meal, we’ll hop on our support van, which will take us back to Hanoi, completing our enjoyable and sustainable e-bike adventure.
