Day 1: Hanoi Airport – Tuyen Quang City.
Upon your arrival at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi at ?h via flight ? (please advise), you will be greeted by by our local team and transferred to Tuyen Quang city. Arrive in Tuyen Quang city late evening, check into a local hotel. Overnight in Tuyen Quang city at hotel.
Day 2: Tuyen Quang City – Ha Giang City – Quan Ba.
On the second day of this Ha Giang Loop Bicycle, you will enjoy a full day road trip along the national road #2 to Ha Giang province. Have some stops on the way to take picture. Enjoy beautiful scenery of lush palm forests, tea plantations and stunning valleys. Overnight in Quan Ba at hotel or homestay. Arrival in Ha Giang city around noon, in time for lunch. After lunch, we begin our ride from Ha Giang city. The first 20k is quite flat, then we climb uphill, riding up to Quan Ba Heaven Gate. We drive into the vast limestone mountain range with its perpendicular walls of rock. As we pass through mountain villages sometimes covered by cloud, we will receive a friendly greeting from the local communities. We reach Tam Son town of Quan Ba district in the late afternoon. Check into a local guesthouse for overnight.
Day 3: Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van.
Setting off this morning we head out of town cycling for the first 25km on relatively flat road through the landscape of terraced rice paddy fields. We cycle uphill for the first few km before a descent of around 10km and then relatively flat terrain for the next 10km. It’s a challenging up and down terrain to an altitude of 1.025m before we make a final descent for the last 15km into Yen Minh. This afternoon we prepare for the most challenging ride as today we will have many tough climbs to reach, but views are more spectacular, as you move into a higher altitude. You will climb through the black volcanic rock, where you will see various hill-tribes seeking out a living from this infertile ground. The colorful, traditional costumes of these people will help you to face the challenge of the mountains, and the views over these spectacular mountains and through the huge gorges will reward your efforts. Overnight in Dong Van at hotel.
Day 4: Dong Van – Meo Vac – Yen Minh – Quan Ba.
Enjoy a wonderful ride on this 4th day of Ha Giang Loop Bicycle as you will pass by the most beautiful pass of Vietnam – The Ma Pi Leng pass. It is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.500m (4,921ft) above the sea level, situated between Dong Van and Meo Vac, close to the border with China. It’s said to be the most astonishing mountain road in all of Vietnam. After a short break, we embark on 17km downhill ride towards the little town of Meo Vac. Climb up for about 5km, then ride downhill for about 30km on a nice smooth road. You then have some light up and downs through peaceful villages until you arrive back Yen Minh town. Picked up again by your car and transferred to Quan Ba. Overnight in Quan Ba at hotel.
Day 5: Quan Ba – Ha Giang City – Hanoi Airport.
Leaving Quan Ba we drive uphill to the Heaven Gate which is famous for offering impressive view over the Tam Son valley and the “Twin Hills ”. If you wish you can make some short stop on the way to visit other hill tribe villages. The journey takes about 8 hours to arrive back in Hanoi.
