Prepare for an extraordinary and deeply enriching full-day adventure that takes you beyond the usual tourist paths, offering a unique blend of ancient history and pristine natural exploration. Golden Trail Travel invites you on the "Angkor Temple Trekking and Hunting in the Jungle Full Day" tour – a meticulously crafted journey designed for intrepid travelers who seek a more intimate, active, and authentic connection with Cambodia's most iconic heritage site and its surrounding wilderness. This isn't just a temple visit; it's a comprehensive expedition into the heart of the Khmer Empire and the lush Cambodian jungle.
Your unforgettable day begins bright and early, immersing you in the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Angkor Complex. While many visitors stick to the main roads, this tour is specifically designed to allow you to trek through the less-explored areas of the archeological park. You'll navigate ancient pathways, quiet forest trails, and overgrown sections that reveal a different, more serene side of this magnificent historical site. This unique approach allows you to discover hidden temples and lesser-known ruins, often partially reclaimed by the jungle, offering incredible photo opportunities and a sense of true discovery away from the main crowds. Feel the weight of history underfoot as you walk through centuries-old stone structures and ancient trees, imagining the lives of those who built and lived within these hallowed grounds.
Beyond the temples, the adventure continues as you delve into the lush Cambodian jungle. This isn't just a walk; it's an opportunity to experience the vibrant ecosystem that surrounds Angkor. Your expert local guide, fluent in English, will lead you through dense foliage, sharing fascinating insights into the diverse flora and fauna of the region. You'll learn about traditional plant uses, listen to the symphony of the forest, and observe the intricate relationship between nature and the ancient structures.
The term "Hunting in the Jungle" in this context refers to a metaphorical "hunt" for knowledge, discovery, and authentic local experiences, rather than literal animal hunting. This aspect of the tour emphasizes the quest for understanding traditional Cambodian life, potentially involving learning about local foraging techniques, observing how communities interact with their natural environment, or uncovering hidden insights into the local culture through your guide's expertise. It's about "hunting" for those unique, immersive moments that truly connect you with the land and its people.
Throughout this full-day expedition, you will be accompanied by an expert, English-speaking local guide from Golden Trail Travel. Your guide is more than just a navigator; they are a storyteller, historian, and cultural ambassador, possessing intimate knowledge of Angkor's history, the jungle's ecology, and the local way of life. They ensure your safety, enrich your understanding, and facilitate meaningful interactions, bringing the ancient stones and the living forest to life.
Golden Trail Travel is deeply committed to responsible and sustainable tourism. This tour emphasizes exploring Angkor's wilderness respectfully and supporting local insights rather than exploiting resources. It's an active and engaging way to experience the iconic Angkor complex combined with the tranquility and discovery of the surrounding jungle. Return to Siem Reap with not just incredible photos, but with a profound sense of accomplishment, a deeper understanding of Cambodia's intertwined history and nature, and memories of a truly unique and immersive adventure.

07h00am: Pick up from your hotel. Transfer 3km to the starting point. We begin our walking right away in the jungle. After walking for 1 hour in the jungle we cross the main road where we could meet our driver to get more water. We pass Ta Phrom temple from outside. If you have got Angkor Pass, we visit inside the temple for 1 hour. If not we continue walking in the jungle again to Ta Ney temple. We stop for lunch in front of this temple hidden from the main road in the jungle. After lunch, we continue to talk to the Old French Water Reserve where we could cool down in the water. In the afternoon we walk our final leg toward Preah Khan temple (the second biggest temple). Finsih our trekking at this temple. Transfer back to the hotel. End of tour services!
Note: The above walking tour can be done for 12km to finish at the Old French Water Reserve and got transfer back to the hotel. For harder trail, we recommend the walking 15km until Preah Khan temple and we are flexible to add more distance until 18km. But if people have got Angkor pass and would like to visit inside all the temple in details, we recommend to walk only 15km and it will allow enough time inside the temple. The itinerary can also be flexible to finish at Angkor Wat but we have to cross a stream (1 meter deep from June to November / less than 1 meter deep from December to May).
