In a uniquely Vietnamese touch, access to the course is by boat. The island golf complex situated site comprises 350 hectares of land and 1,500 hectares of waterfront.
The Mountainview Course plays in the interior of Kings Island. Designed in 2004 by Pacific Coast Design from Australia, holes at Mountainview take full advantage of the scenery of the surrounding mountains and the nearby authentic Vietnam ethnic village. All 18 holes play through hardwood forests and jungle land. The par-72 layout stretches to over 7,000 yards from the back tees and is suitable for international competitions. Putting surface are planted with Novotec Bermuda grass that stays green year round, even in the cooler damp weather of Hanoi. The Mountainview course after its renovations in 2017 is one of the best parkland courses in the North of Vietnam.
Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club
Located 45 kilometers from central Hanoi, Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club is made up of two contrasting 18-hole courses – the Sky Course and the Lake Course. Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club was awarded in 2015 as both the best championship course in Vietnam and the 5th best course in Vietnam. This was the only Hanoi golf club to receive such notoriety. Both courses were designed by Korean architect, Mr. Ahn Moon Hwan of Bori Golf Design.
The Lake Course provides members with championship level golf and plays up-and-down through a series of lakes with mountains as backdrops. Most holes are routed over rolling hills. Scenic views overlooking the surrounding farmland can be had from the clubhouse and from many points on the course itself. Fairways and greens are undulated and follow the hilly contours of the area. The course is long and challenging as it plays to 7,265 yards from the tips.
Montgomerie Links Vietnam
The Montgomerie Links, located just off historical Danang Beach and minutes from the Danang City, is a stunning 7090 yard, par-72 golf course. The course rated as one of Asia’s ten most elite courses by the 2012 Forbes Travel Guide as well as most recently has been voted as 'Vietnam's Best Championship Course 2013' by the Vietnam Golf Magazine. Since then yearly awards are common for Montgomerie.
Nearby Hoi An, known for being a UNESCO World Heritage site, also has a fantastic beachscape, which makes the perfect palette for this links-style course. The Montgomerie Links Vietnam is known by locals as Monty Links, gives golfers the feeling of being in Ireland or Scotland without the cold temperatures of the British Isles! The first golf course in central Vietnam it takes advantage of its proximity to both the Vietnam East Sea and the Marble Mountains; the later are visible from many points on the course.
Ba Na Hills Golf Club
Ba Na Hills Golf Club is 25 minutes inland from Danang Vietnam near at the foothills of the cable car station leading to Bana Hills. The IMG managed Da Nang golf course is the first Luke Donald designed course not only in Asia but the world.
Ba Na Hills is laid out in several valleys of the surrounding mountain ranges. The Ba Na Hills mountain course has a diverse mix of natural topography and vegetation. The holes at higher elevation have nice vantage points with spectacular views of the valleys below.
The site has a fair amount of elevation change and many natural features like large hardwood trees and streams that meander tough several of the holes. At 7,858 yards in length, the par-72 golf course provides a balance of challenge and enjoyment for golfers of all skill levels. The varying lengths of each hole and different lies resulting from the rolling hills and elevations changes ensure use of a variety of shots throughout the 18 holes.
Long Thanh Golf Club & Residential Estate
The Long Thanh Golf Club offers 36 holes of golf in the former rice paddies and scenic countryside surrounding Saigon. The Ho Chi Minh City golf course is located 30 kilometers north of the city on a bluff with unobstructed views back towards the Vietnamese capital.
Both the Hill and Lake course are well maintained throughout the year and the golf courses are a longtime favorite among locals. Many expatriates and Vietnam golf visitors prefer Long Thanh Golf Club over its more famous neighbor Vietnam Golf & Country Club.
The Hill Course features rolling fairways and large undulating greens. Large oil palms frame each hole. The Lake Course is characterized by many high lipped bunkers and water hazards on almost every hole to catch errant shots. Both courses feature Paspalum grassed fairways and tee boxes. Putting greens use Tifdwarf Bermuda grass which can roll anywhere from 8 to 10. This combination of grasses matches other top courses in the region. The rough at Long Thanh is cut relatively short and poses no real challenge.
Vietnam Golf & Country Club
Located just 17 kilometers from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Golf & Country Club is one of the nearest golf clubs to the city center. Vietnam Golf & Country Club is set amongst 300 hectares of land and includes two championship golf courses. Both courses play through mature woodlands with minimal land movement. Golfers at Vietnam Golf & Country Club get the feeling that the land was destined to be a golf course, so natural is the layout and design.
Open since November 1995, the 7,106-yard West Course at Vietnam Golf & Country Club features narrow tree-lined fairways and fast level greens. The par-72 championship course was Taiwanese designed and hosted the Vietnam Open Asian PGA Tour events in both 1995 and 1997.
The course winds its way through mostly oil palm trees offering challenging tee shots to narrow landing areas. Several holes also feature a lone tree in the center of the fairway. Bermuda Tifeagle greens provide beautiful putting surfaces all year round. The West Course’s difficulty lies in its championship length. Only single-digit handicap players should play off the back tees. Even from the regular men's tees, this course can provide a very long afternoon of golf, especially if drives are not on target.
