The name is the tour code and if you want to do the same itinerary please include this in your request. Currently, some are old or outdated but most are still very good. The names of places may change and actual distance (in km) can be shorter or longer due to new roads. The guide will be the boss of a tour and he will discuss with you which road to take, based on road and weather conditions at the time.
Most of these motorbike tours were designed for both experienced and non-experienced riders. The best motorbikes for these trips are dirt bikes or off-road motorcycles from 125cc to 250cc. We suggest having people with similar riding skills in each group so nobody holds the other riders back.
BIG NORTH LOOP OF VIETNAM MOTORBIKE TOURS ITINERARIES
If time allows (around two weeks), Golden Trail Travel invites motorbike riders to take this trip and ride Northern Vietnam in a big loop. You ride close to the border between Vietnam and Laos and Vietnam and China. Slowly, you cruise from the low land of Red River delta, head up the mountain range and finally ride on the high mountain roads for many days before coming back to Hanoi.
The experience you get is special and unique. In addition, the landscape is so beautiful and wild. Moreover, hill tribal people are honest, friendly, and easygoing. All in all, you get a real insight into Vietnam!

Day 1: Hanoi – Nghia Lo. ~200 km, ~7 h.
Today is the first day of this Middle Roads & Halong Bay 6 days by bike. Before starting to ride, we will have a short briefing to let you know about the rules. In addition, the guide will show you how to understand him by his body language. We start around 9.30am after the rush hours.
This is, in fact, an easy ride on sealed roads. You ride through rural areas with beautiful rice field along the road. In general, it is a nice and quiet motorbike cruising.

Day 2: Nghia Lo – Sapa. ~230 km, ~6-7 h.
In general, the road is wild and bumpy. We go through the massif of Mu Cang Chai, almost as high as the Fansipan. From the top, we have one of the most beautiful views of Northern Vietnam. Arrive in Sapa in the afternoon.
Day 3: Sapa – Luc Yen. ~160 km, ~5 h.
Sunday market in the morning if it’s the correct timing. Then easy ride to Luc Yen. The landscapes are very varied, always skirting the border to finish in triumph in the valley of the palm trees of Luc Yen, at the Dao and Tay. Homestay in our friendly Tay village.
Day 4: Luc Yen – Hanoi. ~230 km, ~7 h.
The easy road back to Hanoi. Be prepared for the trip to Halong Bay tomorrow.
Day 5: Hanoi – Bai Chay – Halong. ~170 km, ~5 h.
Ride to Bai Chay in 5 hours. In general, it’s a good sealed road. A traditional junk is waiting to take us to cruise in Halong Bay. The lunch with seafood on the boat. Boating to Thien Cung cave, fishing village and then through myriads of limestone to Ba Trai Dao (Three Peach Fruit Islet). Swimming and sleep here.

Day 6: Halong – Cat Ba – Hai Phong – Hanoi: ~120 km, ~2 h 30 m. End ò Middle Roads & Halong Bay 6 Days By Bike.
Cruise to Cat Ba. In fact, Cat Ba is the far end of Halong Bay. In general, Cat Ba still live from the resource that the sea offers. However, tourism is developed and of high quality. The Cat Ba Bay is a condensed of Halong Bay, its labyrinth of limestone so dense that it is difficult to imagine we are in the sea.
We created this itinerary – the floating village Van Gia. They are our friends and the relationship with them is intimate, even knowing that some companies now also pass through there.
Finally, yet importantly, Monkey Island (Cat Dua Islet) was totally ignored by mass tourism when we propose to stop there. It has got nothing special besides the fact that there is nobody except monkeys and one family who takes care of their security.
Arrive Cat Ba in time for the ferry at 1.30 pm to Hai Phong and drive back to Hanoi on Highway 5.
We try to arrive in Hanoi before 5pm to avoid rush hours. Otherwise, you should be good with city traffic from the experience you got over the last days
