Muong Ang is a mountainous district of Dien Bien Province in the northwest Vietnam. The district covers an area of 444 square kilometres. It contains 1 township and 9 communes including Muong Ang, Ang Cang, Ang Nua, Ang To, Bung Lao, Muong Dang, Muong Lan, Nam Lich, Ngoi Cay, and Xuan Lao.
Getting to Muong Ang Dien Bien
The best way to get to Muong Ang from Hanoi is to take a flight from Hanoi to Dien Bien Phu city. It takes one hour by plane. Then either rent a car or catch a taxi to get to Muong Ang district from Dien Bien Phu airport. There are also direct buses from Hanoi to Muong Ang.
Traveling by road from Hanoi to Muong Ang is a great way to discover the north west Vietnam. Take the national road #6 Hanoi, Son La to Muong Ang. You can also reach this area by following the other national road #32 or the new highway from Hanoi to Lai Chau, then to Muong Ang. The stretch of road goes uphill and downhill alternately with many sharp bends.
Muong Ang Dien Bien Weather
The district climate is monsoon tropical in altitude with low temperature and few rain in winter, hot and heavy rain in summer, Vietnam weather. Average annual temperature is 21-230C, lowest temperatures occur from December to February of the following year (14-180C), from April to September average temperature is 250C. Dry season lasts from October to April of the following year.
