Visit Angkor to discover one of the most beautiful places on earth. By far the largest religious building in the world today, in its prime Angkor was the center of what was the world’s largest capital city. Now you can journey with experienced tour guides to these remarkable ancient temples.
Begin your tour with an early start from Siem Reap, and journey to Angkor Thom, the center of the late 12th century city of Angkor. With over one million people, it was the world’s largest city.
Here you can explore the great plaza adjoining the 300 meter-long Elephant terrace, and the ruins of the Royal Palace and the pyramid temple of Phiminakas. At the rear of the plaza are 12 towers the Prasats Sour Prat. Tightrope walkers used to perform across what is now the road to the Victory Gate.
Following lunch you will be taken to visit the fascinating temple of TaPromh. This huge temple complex looks much the same as when it was first rediscovered. Here you will see high lichen covered walls distorted by the movement of the earth beneath.
The last call of the day will be back at Angkor Wat. This time you'll be at the western side to experience what is typically a magnificent sunset. Golden hues cast a warm glow over this ancient temple and the surrounding countryside. Afterwards you will arrive back into Siem Reap.
Please note: this itinerary may be varied to improve the visitor experience.
Please note: our guides are experts in culture and history. They are not able to give detailed technical advice on photography, but are experts in leading you to the best locations and avoiding most of the crowds.
