Overview
VIETNAM MOTORBIKE TOURS ITINERARIES
On this page, you will find Vietnam motorbike tours itineraries by Golden Trail Travel that customers completed. The name is the tour code and if you want to do the same itinerary please include this in your request. Currently, some are old or outdated but most are still very good. The names of places may change and actual distance (in km) can be shorter or longer due to new roads. The guide will be the boss of a tour and he will discuss with you which road to take, based on road and weather conditions at the time.
Most of these motorbike tours were designed for both experienced and non-experienced riders. The best motorbikes for these trips are dirt bikes or off-road motorcycles from 125cc to 250cc. We suggest having people with similar riding skills in each group so nobody holds the other riders back.

BIG NORTH LOOP OF VIETNAM MOTORBIKE TOURS ITINERARIES
If time allows (around two weeks), Golden Trail Travel invites motorbike riders to take this trip and ride Northern Vietnam in a big loop. You ride close to the border between Vietnam and Laos and Vietnam and China. Slowly, you cruise from the low land of Red River delta, head up the mountain range and finally ride on the high mountain roads for many days before coming back to Hanoi.
The experience you get is special and unique. In addition, the landscape is so beautiful and wild. Moreover, hill tribal people are honest, friendly, and easygoing. All in all, you get a real insight into Vietnam!

Fully Guided (All-Inclusive) Vietnam Motorbike Tours
Forget about negotiating things on the road and dealing with travel scams. Just ride, take in the scenery, meet local people, relax, and leave everything to us. After all, this is a journey, not just an adventure.
Below are the cost details of a typical fully guided trip, based on the different number of riders in your group and the bikes you ride. You start and end in Hanoi in a round loop.

Day 1: Hanoi – Nghia Lo (~250 km, ~7 h).
This is our first day of our Northwest & Northeast 10 days Vietnam motorbike tour. Before the ride, it takes 30 minutes to double-check the bikes and ensure that we have all the necessary tools and equipment to guarantee maximum fun.
Then we head out of Hanoi skirting along Red River to Son Tay and then head up the mountain to Nghia Lo. The road is easy and flat from Hanoi to Thanh Son, from Thanh Son to Thu Cuc and then Ba Khe to Nghia Lo is beautiful, snaking the foot of Hoang Lien Range. Nghia Lo is a big mountain town where we stop for the night.

Day 2: Nghia Lo – Than Uyen (~180 km, ~5 h).
Wild and bumpy road with Lung Lo Pass as the first challenge. The next one is the higher Khau Pha Pass. We ride through the Mu Cang Chai massif, almost as high as the Fansipan. From the top, it offers one of the most beautiful views of North Vietnam. The ride is challenging but very rewarding.
Night in a hotel.

Day 3: Than Uyen – Sapa (~140 km, ~5 h).
The area of Than Uyen is mainly populated by Flower H’mong and Dzao people. Then direction Sapa. Easy track for 100 km and asphalted mountainous road for the last 40 km. Stay in Sapa and you will find out the reason Sapa is one of the most popular places for tourists in Vietnam.

Day 4: Sapa – Vu Linh. ~180 km, ~7 h.
We ride down to Thac Ba lake. Golden Trail Travel's itinerary goes all along the river until Luc Yen. In general, you take in a very beautiful landscape. Then, 2 options:
Option 1
We go first to the embarcadere. In fact, this is a nice cruise between palm trees. Then, we cross all the lake by boat (3 hours). We arrive at the traditional village of Dzao people where we stay overnight.
Option 2
We go round the lake following small tracks. Finally, we arrive at Vu Linh, a traditional village of Dzao people where we sleep in the family of our friends. Honestly, the welcome is exceptional.

Day 5: Vu Linh – Na Khan. ~200 km, ~8 h.
You ride from Vu Linh to Na Khan through Thai Nguyen (over 200 km). In general, the road is sealed all the way until Bac Kan. However, the last part from Bac Kan to Na Khan is wild and a little bumpy. Na Khan is a Tay village, lost in the middle of the primitive forest. Mr. Lo, chief of the village will welcome us to his house.

Day 6: Na Khan – Ba Be. ~50 km, ~2 h.
In fact, you only have a short ride from Na Khan to Ba Be on a bumpy road. We leave our bikes at our host’s house. Then easy boating on the lake and river until the house of Mr. Pirate where we have lunch. Afternoon, we can go to the market (if it is the day you arrive), stop at a waterfall, have a swim, etc. Down the waterfall, we could visit the village and a small school.
We can stay in the stilt house of forest guards (next to Pirate’s house) or come back to the village and spend overnight with Mr. Dang and his family.

Day 7: Ba Be – Quang Hoa. ~170 km, ~7 h.
In fact, it’s a beautiful ride up to Cao Bang province. There are a few passes from where you can dominate the area. The road is easy but there are many curves. While riding we can stop a lot. Altogether, with stops for drinks and food, it should be an 8-hour journey. Then ride 1 more hour to reach the beautiful village of Quang Hoa, in the middle of a mountain cirque. This is the territory of Nung An people. Spend the night at our friend’s house.

Day 8: Quang Hoa. ~100 km, ~2 h (or ~30 km, ~1 h).
Option 1
In fact, Na Tau is a completely unknown area that we propose to discover it by raft and motorbike. Rivers and waterfalls everywhere are extremely beautiful and wild. It is only 15 km from Quang Hoa.
Option 2
Having obtained permission from the border police, we make our way through spectacular scenery to Vietnam’s most impressive waterfalls. Weather permitting we can swim right up to where the 50 m high falls hit the river.

Day 9: Quang Hoa – Mau Son. ~180 km, ~6 h.
Ride from Quang Hoa to Lang Son. Then continue driving toward the border from Lang Son to Mau Son. Mau Son is 30 km away from Lang Son, 1.541m above sea level. Quite cool in the evening! Night in the guesthouse of Mau Son Resort.
Recently, we received some complaints about room service and prostitution in Mau Son. In case you want better hotel rooms, we could stop in Lang Son city.

Day 10: Mau Son – Hanoi. ~180 km, ~5 h. End of Northwest & Northeast 10 days.
Promenade around Mau Son in the morning. Then ride down to Lang Son to have lunch. The road is asphalted all the way and it takes 3 and a half hours to drive back to Hanoi.
We arrive in Hanoi around 3 to 4pm, before rush hours
