Northern Vietnam 5 Day Itinerary Pu Luong Halong Bay starts from Hanoi and takes you to Mai Chau valley, Pu Luong Nature Reserve and Halong bay. You will trek through local Thai hamlets, terraced rice fields in Pu Luong Nature Reserve and also enjoy an overnight cruise to Halong bay. You have the opportunity to spend the night in a local stilt house and to paddle through hundred of islets in Halong bay. The multi-sport tour is customized for individuals, small groups, family holidays and those looking for a tailor-made trip to the northern Vietnam.

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Pu Luong.
You will be met up at your hotel in Hanoi city center by Hiking Vietnam team and depart for Mai Chau. This scenic drive takes around four hours. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. Following lunch in Poom Coong village, Mai Chau we drive further into the Pu Luong Nature reserve where we begin our trek. We trek for approximately three hours before arriving at the Thai village of Hang where we spend the night with a local Thai family. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we will discover a little more about their lives and culture.

Day 2: Pu Luong Trekking Homestay.
Today we will walk for about six hours. Along the way we pass through several Thai villages and hamlets before arriving at the village of Kho Muong. As the name suggests this is a Muong minority village and we will be their guests for the night.

Day 3: Pu Luong – Hanoi.
This morning we set out from Kho Muong and trek for roughly three hours and a half before arriving in Pho Doan townlet where your lunch will be provided in a local house. After breakfast, we will catch a motorbike-taxi traveling to La Han ferry where our car will be waiting for us for our journey back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi – Halong Bay.
8:15: Get on our sharing shuttle bus and enjoy the three-hour drive through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life. Arrive in Halong around noon and board the Bai Tho traditional sailing junk (or similar junk). Whilst cruising the exquisite waters sample the regions fresh seafood. Visit the recently discovered Surprise Grotto with its great views or journey to Dau Go Cave and nearby see the famous stalagmites and stalactites of Thien Cung Cave. Enjoy one-hour kayaking on the emerald waters of Halong Bay. Watch the sun set over the bay whilst enjoying a delicious dinner. Overnight on board junk.

Day 5: Halong Bay – Hanoi.
Wake up to fresh coffee and a wholesome breakfast before cruising back to Halong City. Disembark at the dock at Halong City at 11:00 and transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi around 15:30. You will be dropped off near Thang Long water puppet theater. Travel to your hotel by yourselves. End of our service
