Night 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai.
Take the overnight train to Lao Cai. Departure at 8.30PM. Overnight on board train.
Day 1: Lao Cai – Bac Ha.
Upon your arrival at Lao Cai train station, you will be greeted by our local cycling team and transferred to a local restaurant for early breakfast. We propose to cycle directly to Bac Ha on sealed mountainous road with many curves. We have time to stop en route for breaks or taking picture. Overnight in Bac Ha.
Day 2: Bac Ha – Luc Yen.
If today is Sunday, we will start the day by strolling around Bac Ha market to meet with many ethnic groups. Otherwise we move towards Luc Yen that is well-known for its gem market. Luc Yen gem market is held in a pretty nice location on the corner of a shimmering lake in Yen The town. The major part of the road from Bac Ha to Luc Yen is easy and sealed. Overnight in Luc Yen.
Day 3: Luc Yen – Thac Ba Lake.
After breakfast, we take a small dirt track bordered by palm trees, in the middle of the karsts. Finally, we arrive at Vu Linh, a traditional village of Dao that is situated by the Thac Ba Lake. It is one of the largest men-made lake in Vietnam and is a truly spectacular setting for those who love to get back to nature and breath deep. Nestled in the rolling hills of Yen Bai Province, the lakes’ seasonally changing landscape never fails to impress and you’ll have ample time to appreciate it.
Day 4: Thac Ba Lake – Hanoi.
This morning you have two options, either enjoy a boat trip on Thac Ba Lake or continue the ride until being picked up by your support van and transferred back to Hanoi. North Vietnam Cycling Trip Bac Ha to Hanoi 4 Days is completed.
