Cai Be is a district in the west of Tien Giang province in southern Vietnam. It is known for its floating market on the Tien River, one of the branchs of the Mekong. Famous for being at the center of the region's fruit trade, this market attracts about 400,000 tourists every year.
Cai Be is one of the many well-known floating markets in the western region of southern Vietnam. It was formed in the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th century. The floating market is always bustle, with all the features of local life in the southwest region of Vietnam.
It is divided into two parts: the places of purchase and sale. All goods are transported in the market by rafts and boats. About 400-500 boats filled with fruits, vegetables and other products are anchored along the banks of the river. The merchandise sold in each boat is hung on a pole in front of the boat to attract the attention of customers.
